Valencia Basket Men's team Staff Set for the 2025–26 Season
Miguel Ángel Polo
Valencia Basket has finalized the staff for our men's professional team for the 2025–26 season, with Pedro Martínez at the helm as he prepares for his fourth season leading the taronja bench in the debut year of the Roig Arena.
The Catalan coach will once again be joined by assistant coaches Xavi Albert, Juan Maroto, and Adrian Kovacs. The assistant coaches will also continue to be supported by Vicent Revert, who will combine this supporting role during first team practices with his responsibilities as head coach of a team at L'Alqueria del Basket.
A new addition to the coaching staff this season is the return of Ángel Cepeda, who will not only strengthen the coaching lineup for our men's team but will also be in charge of individual player development. Cepeda returns to Valencia Basket after a first stint of five seasons at the Club between 2016 and 2021, during which he led the taronja second team while also being part of the men's team coaching staff that won the Liga Endesa title in 2017.
Alfonso Castilla will extend his long tenure as team manager for another year, Paco Plaza will once again serve as kit manager, and Rafa Jiménez will continue as data analyst. The remaining changes are in the areas related to health.
Updates in the Performance Department
The coaching staff of our men's team will continue to benefit from the consistent support of the Performance Department, which includes physical preparation, physiotherapy, nutrition, psychology, and medical services, led by Pedro Cotolí.
Dr. Vicente Sebastià will continue in his role as the Club’s chief medical officer, responsible for both the professional teams and the teams at L’Alqueria del Basket. Dr. Álvaro Sala, who previously served as the men’s team doctor for three seasons between 2018 and 2021, will return to this position after four seasons with Levante UD, Elche CF, and the Armenian national football team, following his departure from Valencia Basket. He replaces Dr. Sergio Calvache, who oversaw the health of the men's professional team during those four seasons.
Pau Alcácer and Rubén Portes will be responsible for structuring and supervising the physical preparation of the men’s first team, which adds Pablo Duarte to its team of physiotherapists to work alongside Joan Martínez. Duarte joins the Club after spending the past seven seasons working with the professional players of Río Breogán. Meanwhile, Álvaro Domínguez will continue as team nutritionist.
